Avenged Sevenfold terbentuk pada tahun 1999 di Orange County, California. Album pertama mereka, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet direkam ketika mereka masih berumur 18 tahun. Album ini dirilis dengan label Good Life Recordings, tetapi setelah gitaris Synyster Gates masuk Avenged Sevenfold, album ini dirilis ulang dengan label Hopeless Records. Lagu "To End The Rapture" juga direkam ulang, kali ini ditambahkan dengan permainan gitar Synyster Gates.
City of Evil (2005-2007)
Tahun 2005, Amerika Serikat tengah jenuh dengan musik hip-hop dan pop yang merajalela, lalu Avenged Sevenfold merilis album mereka City of Evil tepatnya pada tanggal 8 Juni, 2005. Hits single Bat Country merupakan lagu metal/rock pertama yang merajai MTV TRL. Mereka mempopulerkan kembali solo gitar dengan duet gitaris Synyster Gates dan Zacky Vengeance yang benar-benar memanaskan area moshpit. Album tersebut mendapat sertifikat gold dan memenangkan predikat Best New Artist in a Video di MTV VMA 2006 untuk lagu Bat Country.
Avenged Sevenfold (2007-2008)
Tahun 2007, mereka kembali masuk studio untuk merekam lagu terbaru mereka untuk studio album ke-5 mereka. Awal Agustus 2007, mereka menjalani tur Asia Pasifik mereka, dan sempat mampir di Indonesia dan memainkan lagu mereka pertama kali di depan publik. Lagu yang berjudul Almost Easy tersebut mendapat sambutan hangat dari penggemar di seluruh dunia. Ketika itu band punk Jogjakarta Endang Soekamti didaulat menjadi band pembuka.
Tahun 2008 ini, mereka berpartisipasi sebagai headliners di tour Taste of Chaos bersama dengan Bullet for My Valentine, Atreyu, Blessthefall dan Idiot Pilot. Ketika tour, mereka merekam sebuah DVD yang mengandung 6 lagu baru mereka.
Tanggal 22 Oktober 2008, Avenged Sevenfold akan kembali manggung di Indonesia masih dengan event organizer yang sama yakni Java Musikindo dan kali ini band heavy metal Jibril didaulat menjadi band pembuka.
Live In The LBC & Diamonds in the Rough (2008-saat Ini)
Album yang dirilis pada 16 September, 2008 ini berisi 102 menit DVD dan 52 menit CD.
Di album ini terdapat dua lagu lama yaitu "Afterlife" dan "Almost Easy". Namun kedua lagu tersebut tidak sama persis dengan lagu aslinya. Pada lagu "Afterlife" ditambahi permainan biola yang lebih banyak, sedangkan lagu "Almost Easy" yang berbeda adalah mixing lagunya. Selain itu terdapat juga lagu "Walk" yang merupakan cover dari Pantera dan "Flash of the Blade" yang merupakan cover dari Iron Maiden.
Pada tanggal 16 Juli, majalah Kerrang! (edisi 1219) mengeluarkan sebuah CD gratis berjudul "Maiden Heaven: A Tribute to Iron Maiden" untuk menghormati album dari salah satu band heavy metal terbesar di dunia yaitu Iron Maiden. Matt Shadows berkomentar, "Maiden are by far the best live band in the world and their music is timeless," dan "This also gives us a chance to expose this great song to some of our younger fans who maybe aren't as familiar with Iron Maiden."

Mereka cenderung memainkan nuansa agresif pada vokal, gitar, dan drum (bass tetap statis). Dengan sentuhan yang dinamis, mau keras atau lambat, mereka tetap menggunakan harmonisasi yang luar biasa dan komposisi yang teratur. Sebut saja lagu-lagu yang sedikit melow, seperti Seize The Day dan Dear God, gitarnya tetap di drop Dm seperti halnya metal-metal kebanyakan. Kemudian, ciri khasnya selain komposisi dan drop, Syn memasukkan nuansa sweep picking (arpeggio) di hampir semua lagunya. Keindahan sweep picking yang dipadukan dengan kromatik, slide, dan teknik-teknik lainnya bisa kita dengar di lagu The Wicked End. Kemudian selain itu, tidak lupa juga sentuhan akustik yang membawa suasana seperti di Hawaii, bisa kita dengar di lagu Sidewinder. Tapi, satu lagi ciri khas yang tidak pernah lepas dari mereka, menduetkan gitar Syn dan Zacky, memakai double bass dengan tempo yang beberapa kali lipat beat-nya dari biasanya.

SUPERMAN IS DEAD: POP PUNK IS ALIVE

BALI PUNKS ON THE US INVASION
Bali, a place of immense beauty, dirt, chaos and strange tranquility, has become a major tourist destination. The place is flooded with people from all over the world, just out to buy crap and abuse the locals with wads of dollars. Yet there’s still a true and real feeling about the place.
It all started in 1971, when Uluwatu, one of the world’s best waves, was exposed by Australian surfer Steve Cooney and a perfect clean left. Since then, a lot has changed. Hotels have gone up and waves of clueless tourists, oblivious to the love of riding waves, have stopped by, leaving a wake of destruction. But amongst all the chaos, beauty and contradictions of Indonesia and many other Asian countries, lives a thriving alternative music scene.
Bali’s favorite misfits, Superman Is Dead, have been perfecting their own brand of Balinesian powerpop, punk and rock ‘n roll since 1995. They’re currently signed to Sony Music Indonesia, they've toured Australia and have supported punk giants like MxPx and NOFX. But now, it all seems to be coming together, with a great new album, Angels and the Outsiders, and a slot at this year’s Warped Tour, in the big ‘ol US of A.
Superman Is Dead have also done a lot for other up-and-coming Bali bands. Drummer Jrx owns a punk rock ‘n roll bar in Kuta that has great local acts playing almost every night. If you’re ever in Bali, it really is a cool spot to check out: awesome tunes, cold Bintangs, framed punk and rockabilly posters on the walls and stylish, two tone-inspired, black and white checkered floors. Hell, you can even get inked while you drink.
I caught up with the band on MySpace, to find out what makes these Indonesian anti superheroes tick.
Hey, so first off, who’s in the band and who does what?
Yo! We're three-piece, punk rock, designer bad boys, with Bobby Kool on guitar/vox, Eka Rock on bass/vox and Jrx on drums/vox.
Bali seems to mean a lot to you guys, what was it like growing up there?
Bali's everything to us. Love it to death. We're so proud of our island and will always fight for it. Growing up here taught us a lot about tolerance and open mind, ‘cos Bali's an international melting pot. The easy-going vibe just perfect with the punk rock life we're living – do your own thing and respect each other equally.
Do any of you guys surf?
In the late ‘90s, we all kinda got into it, then we all got bored (lack of talents, ha ha) and focused on the band. Now only Jrx got back to surf again since a year ago, and he's still not a good surfer. He looks better holding a beer bottle than a surfboard, but who cares, he's happy, ha ha.
Indonesia seems to have a great alternative music scene, what do you the think the reason for this is? Quite a few other Asian countries have a much more conservative musical approach?
We're not sure what the real reason is. Indonesia is a mixed and almost over populated country with different religions and race, maybe that's got something to do with our musical taste. We do have a great alternative music scene, but it's still quite underground. And on a mainstream level, we're almost the same with other Asian countries. Pop is the king.
You guys toured Australia a few years back, what was that like? Were you the first band from Bali to do that?
Yeah, in 2007 we toured Aussie for the first time. It was hectic but fun – 16 gigs, 30 days. Cops came and closed our illegal gig at a skate park. Never-ending supplies of beer and weed and on the last gig our singer Bobby collapsed on stage, but he's fine after 10 mins of blackout. Yes, we're the first Balinese band and the second Indonesian band that toured Australia.
What’s it like being on a major label like Sony Music?
In Indonesia, the music industry's still very centralised. You gotta move to big cities like Jakarta or Bandung (both in Java) to make it. And as a band that lives in Bali and refuses to move to the big cities, we're so lucky to have Sony as our label. They're the best label ever. From the first time we signed up with them (2003), we've still got the freedom in our music and art. We still pretty much an underground band, ‘cos we do principal things by our own, from video clips, CD covers, merchandise etc. Sony's contributions are paying for our recording sessions, promoting our albums (video clips, TV, radio etc.) and distributing our albums nationally. And that's great, ‘cos we're not good at doing those things. Ha ha.
Tell us a little bit about Twice Bar, who owns it and what does it mean to Kuta Rock City?
Twice Bar is owned by Jrx's family. Back in 1999, it was a CD shop with a small studio in the back, where SID used to jam. But then more and more people came to watch SID practicing, so Jrx and a friend turned it into an un-professional bar. That time, SID's the only band that jammed there. In 2003, Jrx renovated the bar from the royalties he made selling SID's Kuta Rock City album. And since then, Twice Bar is like Indonesia's answer to CBGB – with cheaper booze. And until today, there's no bar like Twice in Indonesia. We got local (mostly rock) bands playing their own music almost everyday. All the bands get equal chances to play at Twice. And it's free entrance all night long baby!

You guys sing in English and Indonesian, do you think this helped you tour other countries? Would you prefer to just sing in your own language?
When we were younger, our musical references are mostly bands that sing in English. So when we begin to write songs, it automatically came out in English in our heads. It's a spontaneous act. Even though our grammar still messed up, we feel comfortable singing in English. And what's funny is, we just found out how to write proper Indonesian lyrics a few years ago, which started ‘cos a lot of our fans wrote to us that they don't understand the meaning of our English lyrics. So now we're singing in both. We realised that to educate the masses and get your point heard, sometimes you gotta speak their language. And yes, we think singing in both has helped us to be able to tour overseas.
What do you sing about?
Besides being rich and handsome models? Nothing! Ha ha. We have some serious psychosocial content (as in, against the fascist, racist, religious hardliners, which is sadly still a big problem in Indonesia). Then we singing about some pro-environment propaganda (global warming issues), lifestyle (kustom kulture, tattoos, low rider bicycle), outlaw love songs, wild street parties, alcohol and nationalism.
Tell us a little bit about your US tour and playing Warped Tour, how did you guys hook that up? Aren’t you, like, the second Asian band in the history of the tour?
Yeah, we're really stoked and a bit nervous about Warped Tour. It's all a beautiful coincidence. End of 2008, an event organiser from Philadelphia offered to do a small US tour to promote Bali. When it's all confirmed, out of the blue we checked the Warped Tour schedule and the timing is right. Warped starts right when we finish our own small US tour. So we sent them emails, no reply. Then we sent email to NOFX manager Mr. Kent about the situation. SID opened for NOFX once in Bali, so he knows what we are. Kent then recommended SID to Kevin Lyman, the founder of Warped. A few weeks later, Warped sent us a contract to do 11 gigs! Crazy! Still can't really believe it....
Who are some of your influences?
Besides the rich and handsome devils? Ha ha. Plenty, my man, so many. To name a few: The Clash, NOFX, Rancid, Johnny Cash, Social Distortion, Ramones, Elvis Presley, Sublime, The Living End, Everlast, Green Day, Frank Sinatra, Tiger Army and some Indonesian bands also.....
Tell us a little bit about the new album and the direction you guys took?
Emotionally, this is a very honest and vulnerable album for SID. Being together for almost 15 years, we realised we can't just play fast all the time. So now we're putting a few mid-tempo songs in, with tons of collaborations, starting with an orphanage kids choir, a ragga/ska band, jazz musicians, a poet and some Balinese traditional instruments. Musically, this album is wider and not as angry as our previous ones, but we managed to keep the 'rebellious' energy.
What’s the story behind the awesome album art?
Ah, we know you're gonna ask that! Well, it's a project we did with some street-artists from Jogja (Central Java). We did the photo-collage and they hand-painted it in Jogja. It's inspired by the love of old-movie posters. On the cover, that's SID bass-man Eka Rock with his son Romeo. The story is about passing the whole SID positive energy to the newer generation, in the coolest way possible!
What’s up with your fanclub, The Outsiders?
We just recently named our fan club Outsiders, ‘cos we were not really into fan club. We thought we shouldn't worship our self by making a fan club, ‘cos we're just as same as every human being in this planet. But those kids, they're just too strong (and too much free time), and start making their own names for their SID fan clubs. Funny names like Sidheads, Sidiots, Siders etc. So we started to think maybe it's time to give them ideas of a better name and The Outsiders came up two years ago. Since then, they're just getting stronger and more organised. They got chapters in almost every city in Indonesia. They make their own ID card, uniform and flags. They do gatherings monthly or weekly, and doing some projects (music events, charity events etc.) and what's amazing is they're doing it all by themselves, without SID telling them what to do. That's what makes us so proud of them. They're smart, creative and big-hearted kids trying to prove to the people that even though they don't look and act like “normal” Indonesian kids, they can do something good and positive.

Britney Jean Spears was born in rural Louisiana (Kentwood) on December 2, 1981, to Jamie and Lynne Spears. As a child, Britney attended dance classes, and she was great at gymnastics, winning many competitions and the like. But, most of all, Britney loved to sing. At age 8, Britney tried out for "MMC" (1989), but was turned down due to her young age.
This directed her to an off-Broadway show, "Ruthless", for a 2-year run as the title character. At age 11, she again tried for "MMC" (1989) and this time made it as a mouseketeer along side many stars of today (Justin Timberlake and J.C. Chasez of N*Sync and Ryan Gosling). Her big break, however, came when she was signed as a Jive Recording Artist in the late 90s. With the release of her debut album, "...Baby One More Time" in early 1999, Britney became an international success, selling 13 million copies of "Baby" and 9 million (as of July 2001) of her sophomore album, "Oops!...I Did It Again," released in May of 2000.

Born on 2 December 1981 in the small town of Kentwood, Louisiana, to parents Jamie and Lynne Spears, Britney is their second child of three. Her older brother Brian was born in April 1977 and her younger sister, Jamie-Lynn was born in April 1991. From a young age, Britney was always fixing to be a star with idols such as Madonna, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, the young Britney could always be heard singing, no matter what else was going on around her. After taking extensive dance and vocal lessons and performing in numerous talent shows and fairs, Britney auditioned for _"The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989 TV series) [1989-1994]"_ when she 8, however she was too young to get the part. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister moved to New York where she starred in several TV adverts and an off broad-way play "Ruthless", where she was under-study with Natalie Portman. Her love of music and dance took over and 2 years later she auditioned for a part in Mickey Mouse again and this time won the part along with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. As a Mouseketeer, Britney received extensive training in dance, drama and singing and had to grow up a lot during that time. However, after the show was canceled two years later, Britney returned home and did "the normal teenager thing", attending pool parties and she was also the homecoming Queen. As a young teenager, Britney soon grew restless again and this time was desperate to become a star yet again. Again, she traveled to New York and sent out demo tapes to various labels including Sony and Mercury, but was turned down. It was Jive Records that finally took the young Britney on and set out on making her the star she is today.
She hit the studio with writers/producers such as Max Martin and Eric Foster White and the result was her debut album. In late 1998, Jive released her debut single "(Hit me) Baby one more time" which was a pop hit around the Globe, accompanied by the sixteen year old first of many controversial acts - the video, which featured Britney dressed in a Catholic Schoolgirl Uniform, baring her midriff, which was soon to become her trademark. Nonetheless, the single was a smash worldwide and Britney was instantly a Household name. She toured with popular boy band N*Sync and the single shot to the top of the charts for 3 weeks. The album has now sold millions worldwide and is officially 14 x platinum in the US. Her next controversial act, after the video, was to take the cover of Rolling Stones magazine in a suggestive pose, but as Britney mania took off, the 17 year-old became more and more popular. Appealing to young girls, teenage boys and older men, Britney was on her way, yet nobody could have predicted at that time the impact she would have on Pop Culture. The second single, "Sometimes" was released in June 1999 followed on by the top 10 hit "Crazy" in September and "from the bottom of my broken heart" soon after. Britney ended 1999 selling over 10 million copies of her debut and as the Billboard Top Female Pop Artist (singles and albums), Top New Pop Artist, Top Billboard 200 album Artist and Top 100 singles Artist - female. The American Awards, MTV and Teen Choice awards soon began rolling in and in early 2000 Britney was nominated for two Grammy awards.
At just 18, Britney released her second album in 2000, the #1 smash "Oops! I did it again" and single of the same title, which topped the singles chart for 5 weeks. Smash singles "Stronger" and "Lucky" followed, but it was around this time that Britney was beginning to raise more than a few eyebrows. It seemed some people weren't too happy with the message she was sending their impressionable young children. On one hand, Britney was the perfect picture of innocence, declaring herself a Virgin until marriage yet on the other hand, she was sexually charged and provocative, with performance such as the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000, when her costume made her appear scantily-clad. As the young woman was growing up, it seemed there was an internal conflict between her, her management and her mother, all pulling her in different directions. Yet the image the public saw was a gorgeous young woman, beautifully dressed and damn close to perfection, often labeled the "Pop Princess" around the world. Still, the awards kept rolling in and in early 2001 Britney struck a lucrative deal with Pepsi-Cola for Sponsorship and advertising. The 19 year-old was growing up fast, with the media constantly fixed on what she was and wasn't doing, her "rivalry" with former fellow Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera and also her blossoming relationship with N*Sync heartthrob Justin Timberlake. Britney was keen that people saw her as a growing woman as she began to ready the public for her next LP release in late 2001.
In November, she hit the top 10 with the sexually charged "I'm a slave 4 u" which took a completely different turn in musical direction from her previous singles and in the same month released her third LP, self-titled "Britney" which shot to the top of the albums charts, breaking records for a female artist. Her performance of "Slave" at the MTV VMA's caused outrage among animal rights campaigners, as she performed with a live giant Snake and wearing little herself. It was a far cry from the Britney of just three years ago, and perhaps the critical moment when what some people would say "she started going downhill". Sales of her third album, while impressive, where not nearly as high as her former releases, perhaps due to the increase of new pop female singers flooding the market, yet Britney, still incredibly popular, carried on. In early 2002, the 20 year-old Britney released "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman", taken from the soundtrack of her debut movie Crossroads (2002/I) which was released in February that year. She soon after hit the charts with "Overprotected" and also toured Worldwide on the "Dream within a dream tour". Yet it seemed it was all getting too much for Britney, her four year relationship with Timberlake ended suddenly and very publicly and she soon announced she was to take 6 months off, after all, she had achieved so much by such a young age and in such a short space of time. Her star was by no means fading, with "Forbes" declaring her "The Worlds most powerful celebrity" in mid-2002.
While she may have been on a break from her career, she was by no means breaking from the media, who followed her relentlessly, even more keen to track her down and find out what she was up to. Britney was increasingly letting her pop princess crown slip, admitting she had lost her sacred virginity to Timberlake, outside of marriage. Britney could also be seen smoking and drinking to excess on wild nights out and famously breaking down in tears while being interviewed by Diane Sawyer about her parents (who were recently divorced) and her bitter split from Timberlake. Britney was linked to men such as Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit and openly kissed Colin Farrell at a movie premiere. However, she seemed to get herself back together for her new album released in late 2003. In a blitz of publicity which included the infamous "Like a Virgin" performance and Madonna kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards in August that year. The new album "In The Zone" was a bid to be seen as a woman and caused controversy with songs on it such as "Breathe on me" and "Touch of my hand" - which was about masturbation - however, the appeal of Britney was still there and the album topped the Billboard 200 albums charts. The first single to be lifted was "Me against the music" a club hit that featured pop icon Madonna and singing with her was a dream come true for Britney. Now 22, it seemed Britney was in a lot more control over her career, yet her personal life still seemed to be slipping. In January 2004, Britney got "married" to childhood friend Jason Alexander in a Las Vegas ceremony. The incident shocked the world, especially when the marriage was annulled 55 hours later and was described as "a joke taken too far" by her management.
Britney soon released one of her biggest singles, "Toxic" which topped various charts around the world including the UK and Canadian singles charts. The single was a smash-hit and silenced any critics that said Britney no longer had what it took to make a comeback. She soon began her highly publicized and overtly sexual "Onyx Hotel Tour" which was canceled a few months later after Britney damaged her knee during a video shoot and had to receive medical treatment. Other singles off the album included the Gold Selling "Everytime", which topped the UK singles charts and like usual, also carried a fair amount of controversy for its video, which allegedly depicted the star committing suicide after a fight with her boyfriend, played by Stephen Dorff ; however, this was "changed" to an accident in which she drowns yet reincarnates. It was around this time that Britney began dating Kevin Federline, a former back up dancer who she had taken on tour with her a few months previously. The snag here was that Kevin came with baggage - in the form of an "ex" girlfriend, heavily pregnant "Moesha" (1996) actress Shar Jackson and their young child. Britney and Kevin soon became engaged and in September 2004 were married in a secret ceremony, soon after the birth of Kevin's second child. That same month, Britney released a single off her upcoming "Greatest Hits" album (released in November 2004) a cover of Bobby Browns 1988 hit "My Prerogative".
Britney was a changed woman, no longer concerned with what the public thought of her or her appearance, she parted ways with her manager who she had had since she was 13, and was increasingly stepping out looking more "trailer trash" than Multi-Millionaire. In February 2005, Britney won her first Grammy for the single "Toxic" as Best Dance Recording. Just two months later, it was announced Britney was pregnant her first child. A reality TV Series "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic" (2005), which featured the pair getting to know each other the previous year, leading up to their wedding aired on UPN and eventually got a world wide audience, despite harsh criticism. The American Awards, MTV and Teen Choice awards soon began rolling in and in early 2000 Britney was nominated for two Grammy awards.
At just 18, Britney released her second album in 2000, the #1 smash "Oops! I did it again" and single of the same title, which topped the singles chart for 5 weeks. Smash singles "Stronger" and "Lucky" followed, but it was around this time that Britney was beginning to raise more than a few eyebrows. It seemed some people weren't too happy with the message she was sending their impressionable young children. On one hand, Britney was the perfect picture of innocence, declaring herself a Virgin until marriage yet on the other hand, she was sexually charged and provocative, with performance such as the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000, when her costume made her appear scantily-clad. As the young woman was growing up, it seemed there was an internal conflict between her, her management and her mother, all pulling her in different directions. Yet the image the public saw was a gorgeous young woman, beautifully dressed and damn close to perfection, often labeled the "Pop Princess" around the world. Still, the awards kept rolling in and in early 2001 Britney struck a lucrative deal with Pepsi-Cola for Sponsorship and advertising. The 19 year-old was growing up fast, with the media constantly fixed on what she was and wasn't doing, her "rivalry" with former fellow Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera and also her blossoming relationship with N*Sync heartthrob Justin Timberlake. Britney was keen that people saw her as a growing woman as she began to ready the public for her next LP release in late 2001.
In November, she hit the top 10 with the sexually charged "I'm a slave 4 u" which took a completely different turn in musical direction from her previous singles and in the same month released her third LP, self-titled "Britney" which shot to the top of the albums charts, breaking records for a female artist. Her performance of "Slave" at the MTV VMA's caused outrage among animal rights campaigners, as she performed with a live giant Snake and wearing little herself. It was a far cry from the Britney of just three years ago, and perhaps the critical moment when what some people would say "she started going downhill". Sales of her third album, while impressive, where not nearly as high as her former releases, perhaps due to the increase of new pop female singers flooding the market, yet Britney, still incredibly popular, carried on. In early 2002, the 20 year-old Britney released "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman", taken from the soundtrack of her debut movie Crossroads (2002/I) which was released in February that year. She soon after hit the charts with "Overprotected" and also toured Worldwide on the "Dream within a dream tour". Yet it seemed it was all getting too much for Britney, her four year relationship with Timberlake ended suddenly and very publicly and she soon announced she was to take 6 months off, after all, she had achieved so much by such a young age and in such a short space of time. Her star was by no means fading, with "Forbes" declaring her "The Worlds most powerful celebrity" in mid-2002.
While she may have been on a break from her career, she was by no means breaking from the media, who followed her relentlessly, even more keen to track her down and find out what she was up to. Britney was increasingly letting her pop princess crown slip, admitting she had lost her sacred virginity to Timberlake, outside of marriage. Britney could also be seen smoking and drinking to excess on wild nights out and famously breaking down in tears while being interviewed by Diane Sawyer about her parents (who were recently divorced) and her bitter split from Timberlake. Britney was linked to men such as Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit and openly kissed Colin Farrell at a movie premiere. However, she seemed to get herself back together for her new album released in late 2003. In a blitz of publicity which included the infamous "Like a Virgin" performance and Madonna kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards in August that year. The new album "In The Zone" was a bid to be seen as a woman and caused controversy with songs on it such as "Breathe on me" and "Touch of my hand" - which was about masturbation - however, the appeal of Britney was still there and the album topped the Billboard 200 albums charts. The first single to be lifted was "Me against the music" a club hit that featured pop icon Madonna and singing with her was a dream come true for Britney. Now 22, it seemed Britney was in a lot more control over her career, yet her personal life still seemed to be slipping. In January 2004, Britney got "married" to childhood friend Jason Alexander in a Las Vegas ceremony. The incident shocked the world, especially when the marriage was annulled 55 hours later and was described as "a joke taken too far" by her management.
Britney soon released one of her biggest singles, "Toxic" which topped various charts around the world including the UK and Canadian singles charts. The single was a smash-hit and silenced any critics that said Britney no longer had what it took to make a comeback. She soon began her highly publicized and overtly sexual "Onyx Hotel Tour" which was canceled a few months later after Britney damaged her knee during a video shoot and had to receive medical treatment. Other singles off the album included the Gold Selling "Everytime", which topped the UK singles charts and like usual, also carried a fair amount of controversy for its video, which allegedly depicted the star committing suicide after a fight with her boyfriend, played by Stephen Dorff ; however, this was "changed" to an accident in which she drowns yet reincarnates. It was around this time that Britney began dating Kevin Federline, a former back up dancer who she had taken on tour with her a few months previously. The snag here was that Kevin came with baggage - in the form of an "ex" girlfriend, heavily pregnant "Moesha" (1996) actress Shar Jackson and their young child. Britney and Kevin soon became engaged and in September 2004 were married in a secret ceremony, soon after the birth of Kevin's second child. That same month, Britney released a single off her upcoming "Greatest Hits" album (released in November 2004) a cover of Bobby Browns 1988 hit "My Prerogative".
Britney was a changed woman, no longer concerned with what the public thought of her or her appearance, she parted ways with her manager who she had had since she was 13, and was increasingly stepping out looking more "trailer trash" than Multi-Millionaire. In February 2005, Britney won her first Grammy for the single "Toxic" as Best Dance Recording. Just two months later, it was announced Britney was pregnant her first child. A reality TV Series "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic" (2005), which featured the pair getting to know each other the previous year, leading up to their wedding aired on UPN and eventually got a world wide audience, despite harsh criticism. In September 2005, Britney evolved yet again, this time as a devoted wife and mother, with the birth of her first child, a Son, which she named Sean Preston. In November that year, she released a remix album "B in the mix, the Remixes".
Looking back over the last seven years of this remarkable ladies career and life, it really is hard to imagine what the face of Pop would look like without her. Here is a 24 year-old woman who has grown in the face of the glaring media from innocent School-girl to Sexual Pop Vixen to Young wife and Mother. Who knows what is next for Britney? Rumours of a comeback album for 2006 have been circulating for a while and also a few more movie productions, yet one thing is for certain: Britney Spears has worked hard to get to where she is today and by no means will she be disappearing any time soon. Her name and face is legend in the media and celebrity circuit and it's surely only a matter of time before Spears shocks us all again, with her next album or tour or movie or personal move. One thing is for certain though: the public will be watching.

Ternyata AVA mempunyai rahasia yang mungkin sulit diikuti oleh band-band Indonesia.
AVA dalam pembuatan musiknya mengunakan lebih dari 95 track, mungkin satu sound gitar saja menggunakan 5-7 track, padahal normalnya paling tidak hanya 4 track saja.
Recording cara ini termasuk gila, Blink 182 saja yang sound-nya juga sudah lumayan saja ( khusus album self titled ), hanya menggunakan 65 track.
Band U2 yang digunakan untuk dasar musik AVA saja hanya menggunakan 75-80 track.
Bayangkan ambisius seorang Tom Delonge jika sudah masalah sound. Yang sudah pernah membuat demo pasti tahu.
Rata-rata kita hanya menggunakan 34 track.
Hanya Andra and The Backbone yang sampai 50 track dan Erwin Gutawa ( 65 track, itu juga karena Erwin Gutawa full orkestra di album Rockestra )
itu pun jika band kita mempunyai banyak uang dan mampu membayar shift buat mengambil track sebanyak itu.

Biografi Thomas Matthew Delonge
Thomas Matthew DeLonge, Jr. atau sering disebut Tom DeLonge lahir 13 Desember 1975 adalah seorang musisi Amerika Serikat. Ibunya bernama Connie DeLonge. Tom mempunyai satu kakak laki-laki bernama Shon DeLonge dan satu adik perempuan bernama Kari DeLonge. Tom menikah dengan Jennifer Jenkins.
Dia membentuk band beraliran punk-rock bernama Blink 182, kini setelah bubarnya Blink 182 dia bergabung bersama Angels And Airwaves. Dulu ketika masih bersama Blink 182 Tom Delonge dan Travis Barker pernah membuat grup band beraliran Emo, Box Car Racer di tahun 2002 yang mengeluarkan self title album.
Perjalannya bersama Blink 182 bermula ketika dia masih sekolah di Rancho Bernardo High School yang kemudian bertemu dengan Anne Hoppus, saudara dari Mark Hoppus yang nantinya akan mempertemukannya dengan Mark Hoppus. Di tahun 1992 Tom bertemu dengan Scoot Raynor (drummer), bersama Mark dan Scoot akhirnya mereka membuat band bernama Blink, sebelum nantinya berganti nama mejadi Blink 182. Travis Barker menggantikan Scoot yang kabarnya kecanduan alcohol dan Narkoba di album Enema of the State.
Setelah mengeluarkan 8 album bersama Blink 182 dan terakhir mengeluarkan Greatest Hits akhirnya Blink 182 bubar. Tom kemudian membentuk sebuah band bersama David Kennedy, Adam “Atom” Willard, dan Ryan Sinn dengan nama Angels And Airwaves. Dalam perjalanannya bassist mereka Ryan Sinn keluar dari band ini, kemudian dia digantikan oleh Matt Wachter (mantan personil 30 Seconds to Mars) in May 2007.
Di tahun 2008 ini AVA telah mengeluarkan 2 album, album yang pertama adalah We Don’t Need to Whisper (2006) dan I-Empire (2007). Dengan bergabung di AVA nampaknya Tom Delonge bisa lebih bereksperimen dengan musiknya yang sangat berbeda kala dia masih di Blink 182. Di Blink 182 musik yang dimainkan rata-rata beraliran Punk, sedangkan di AVA sentuhan berbagai instrumen dan gitar dari Tom dkk membuat musiknya lebih agak slow dibandingkan dengan Blink 182.
Biografi SUM 41
Sum 41 terbentuk di Ontario, Canada tahun 1996 oleh Deryck Whibley dan Steve Jocz. Grup ini sempat memakai nama Kaspir sebelum akhirnya memutuskan bahwa Sum 41 lebih cocok buat mereka.
Album pertama mereka Half Hour of Power dirilis Island Records tahun 2000 dan berhasil meraih platinum hanya dari penjualan di Canada saja. Album berikutnya yang dirilis 1 tahun kemudian malah berhasil meraih 3 platinum. Album yang berjudul All Killer No Filler ini masih dirilis oleh Island Records.
Warna musik Sum 41 banyak dipengaruhi oleh NOFX dan The Beastie Boys walaupun mereka menyebut juga Judas Priest dan Iron Maiden sebagai sumber inspirasi mereka. Namun pada album Chuck yang terasa lebih berat dan serius bila dibanding 3 album terdahulu, Sum 41 menyebut Metallica sebagai salah satu pengaruh dalam bermusik mereka.
Walaupun warna Punk terasa cukup kuat pada lagu-lagu mereka, jenis musik yang mereka mainkan masih sering diperdebatkan para fans. Mungkin karena musik mereka yang merupakan perpaduan dari berbagai aliran musik.
Dengan formasi terakhir Deryck Whibley (vokal), Cone McCaslin (Bass), dan Steve Jocz (Drum) Sum 41 terakhir merilis album 2007 kemarin dengan judul album Underclass Hero.
Biografi Angels And Airwaves
Angels And Airwaves, band yang berlairan Alternatif Rock ini akhirnya mengeluarkan album keduanya yaitu I- ‘Empire’ setelah sukses dengan Album pertama mereka ‘We Don’t Need To Whisper’ yang beredar tahun 2006 silam.
Band yang digawangi oleh Tom DeLonge (Vokal, Lead Gitar), David Kennedy (Rhythm), Matt Wachter (Bass), Adam “Atom” Willard (Drum) ini merilis album keduanya pada tahun 2007. Album yang memiliki 12 track ini tentunya bisa menjadi salah satu alternatif lagu untuk kita dengar. Di album yang kedua ini, band yang lahir di San Diego - California, Amerika Serikat ini terlihat lebih matang dari album sebelumnya.
Di Album barunya ini, single-nya Everything’s Magic memang harus kalian dengar. Lagu yang mungkin kita akan asing atau aneh bila pertama kali mendengarnya, bagaimana tidak, jika dibanding dengan single album pertamanya The Adventure. Single di album keduanya ini permainan gitar yang terasa lebih hidup, dan juga mereka memainkan musik yang lebih nge-bit, tetapi unsur techno di album ini masih tetap ada.
Lagu yang pernah mendapatkan kritikan karena intronya yang mirip dengan lagu Blink 182 - Anthem Part 2 ini, mengantarkan Angels And Airwaves meraih kesuksesan dengan mencapai peringkat 1 di jajaran Itunes Top Album.

Namun karena dianggap miskin konotasi, zonder rasa bersalah secara sewenang-wenang nama tersebut lalu diganti menjadi “Superman Is Dead” - yang seenak udelnya dimaknai sebagai: tak ada manusia yang sempurna.
Pada mula kemunculan, akhir 95, SID pekat teracuni warna Green Day & NOFX. Seiring beringsutnya waktu, inspirasi musikal SID bergeser ke genre Punk ‘N Roll a la Supersuckers, Living End & Social Distortion.
Imej yang frontal hendak ditonjolkan oleh SID ke publik, self-described as: “Blitzkrieg 3-chordsabilly Beer Punk Rock” (think raw energy of Ramones vs Living End meets Supersuckers + Sid Vicious’ nihilism yet supersonicaly fueled with beer-soaked Rockabilly attitude… Ribet, kan? Horeee…)
SID sendiri telah menerbitkan 3 indie album (Case 15 - thn 95; Superman Is Dead - thn 99; Bad, Bad, Bad - Maret 2002, berformat mini album - berisikan 6 lagu). Menuju pelebaran skala wilayah pencapaian publik, fajar 2003 SID - bekerjasama dengan Spills Record - merilis ulang “Bad, Bad, Bad” dalam bentuk single (4 lagu). Maret 2003, SID menandatangani kontrak dengan Sony Music Indonesia. Yang mengejutkan, Sony Music berbesar hati mempersilakan SID riang gembira terus bernyanyi dalam lirik mayoritas berbahasa Inggris. Kilas balik, pra-tragedi bom, SID agresif diundang berkiprah di kafe-kafe internasional di seantero Kuta yang mana SID dipersilakan memuntahkan gubahan sendiri (baca: bukan sebagai cover band). Esensial dicatat, untuk skala lokal hal ini belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya di Bali. Di masa silam, legiun band yang beraksi di pub-pub di Kuta hanya diijinkan mengusung ciptaan orang lain.
Popularitas SID perlahan kian menjulang ketika satu demi satu tembang SID - yang dominan berlirik Inggris - ultra frekuentif diputar di radio-radio lokal berpengaruh di Bali melebar ke Jawa, percaya atau tidak, lagu-lagu SID telah gencar juga diperdengarkan oleh radio-radio di Australia, Swedia dan jazirah Skandinavia lainnya.
Langkah fenomenal SID dimulai pada Agustus 2002 saat menjadi band pembuka Hoobastank di Hard Rock Hotel, Kuta, Bali. Kemudian pertengahan September 2002, SID sukses mengobrak-abrik Senayan di acara Puma Street Games. Berlanjut Desember 2002, SID digjaya meluluhlantakkan PL Fair. Berikutnya diwawancara oleh MTV Sky, M97 FM, Prambors, dsb, serta masif diekspos oleh hampir seluruh majalah remaja populer nasional. Di Hai edisi tahunan 2002-2003 bersama Rocket Rockers, SID dimunculkan sebagai The Next Big Thing. Oleh MTV Trax, SID dinobatkan sebagai band potensial 2003.
Epos Punk Rock paling mutakhir, SID telah merampungkan proses rekaman bersama Sony Music dengan judul album “Kuta Rock City” dan hingga minggu ke-3 telah terjual puluhan ribu kopi.
Disusul dengan “The Hangover Decade” akhir 2004 dan yang paling terakhir adalah “Black Market Love” pada akhir Mei 2006.

Band Indie yang berasal dari Amerika, Avenged Sevenfold mereguk kesuksesan dalam debut performa di Indonesia. 3.700 penonton berhasil disedot ke Tennis Indoor Senayan Jakarta, Selasa (7/8), artinya tiket seharga Rp 200 ribu sampai 300 ribu terjual ludes.
Mengelontorkan 10 lagu termasuk Burn It Down, Bat Country dan Seize The Day yang berada dalam album terbaru CITY OF EVIL , kelima pria bule itu menghipnotis penyuka musik keras yang rata-rata ABG.
Diawali penampilan band dalam negeri "Endank Soekamti" sebagai opening act, M. Shadow ( lead vokal ), Synyster Gates ( lead guitar ), Zacky Vengeance (lead guitar ), Johnny Christ ( lead bass ) dan The Reverend ( lead drum ) menggebrak melalui Intro, Beast & Harlot, Burn It Down, Unholly Confession tanpa jeda !. Mengomentari antusiasme penonton dan kesuksesan konser Avenged Sevenfold, Adrie Subono selaku promotor Java Musikindo mengaku sangat terkejut.
"Awalnya kita tak menyangka tapi pada minggu-minggu akhir tiket terjual gila-gilaan, bahkan banyak orang yang tak kebagian. Artinya semua jenis musik punya pangsanya sendiri," ujar Adrie. Selain itu, Java Musikindo mengisyaratkan, musik keras tak selamanya identik dengan kekerasan. "Semuanya aman," tandasnya.

Pada masa kecilnya, Matt seringkali dikeluarkan dari sekolahnya karena dia berkali-kali melakukan kekerasan. Sebelum bernyanyi, Matt bermain bass.

Avenged Sevenfold adalah grup musik heavy metal yang dibentuk di Huntington Beach, California pada 1999. Personelnya terdiri atas M. Shadows (lead vokal ), Synyster Gates ( lead guitar), Zacky Vengeance (lead guitar ), Johnny Christ (lead bass ), dan The Reverend (lead drum ). Serta dua mantan personelnya Dameon Ash dan Justin Sane yang telah hengkan dari grup ini.
Album pertama dari Avenged Sevenfoldyang mempunyai judul Sounding the Seventh Trumpet (2002), setelah itu disusul album kedua mereka yang berjudul Waking the Fallen (2003). Di album kedua dari avenged sevenfold yang di singkat menjadi A7X ini pernah tampil bersama Xl Rose, Kylie Minogue dan Chris Cornell. Ynag disusul kemudian album City of Evil (2005) ( album yang menurutku keren ) dan untuk terakhir sampai detik ini berjdul Avenged Sevenfold (2007).
Tersiar kabar , Grup yang pernah mangung di Jakarta pada 7 Agustus 2007 ini , belakangan ini lebih memilih jalur musik pop. Hal ini, konon di karena kan setelah menuai banyak kritikan akibat banyak dari karyanya 'mengadopsi' effec suara yang telah nge hit sebelumnya. Mereka mengaku bahwa, aliran heavy metal yang selama ini mereka usung ternyata tidak cocok bagi bandnya , dan ia sekarang ini lebih menyukai musik pop.
Klo menurut aku sendiri, aku enggak begitu sregh dengan kepindahan aliran mereka dari heavy metal ke pop. karena, menurut aku, mereka lebih terlihan keren dan sangar , saat mengusung aliran heavy metal. aku sendiri kagum dengan mereka itu, juga karena musikyang mereka usung ( menurut ku ) anak muda banget. tapi, itu semua hanya menurutku. Mungkin pendpatku ini berbeda dengan fans a7x yang lain. ini cuman uraian uneg- uneg ku. hehehe
